Show #22: Fairbury, NE
High School Fine Arts Center

Piano du jour: 7’ Everett, a beautiful old piece of furniture, but it played like the very old piano it was
After two 250-mile days in a row, today’s drive of 120 miles went by like nothing. We didn’t depart until noon, so it was great to spend the morning relaxing.
The town of Fairbury has only one lodging option – the Capri Motel. Jody, who has done such a great job with our hotel reservations, was nervous about this one. But it turned out to be bare-bones, but fine. It’s an old fashioned motel, drive-up-to-your-door kind of place. For the first time on tour we had actual keys to our rooms, not the new-fangled key cards.
Oh, it has warmed up! We got out of the van to find it that was 50°!
Our show tonight was in the 500-seat high school auditorium. The place was packed, and the audience was so appreciate. The women really liked the intimate feel of the place.
Travis, a man of many talents, leaving a memento
Trivia for the day: After the show, several people in the Joydit Line told us that Carol Channing’s first husband grew up in the nearby town of Steele City, population 70.
