Show #16: Lincoln, IL

Lincoln Christian College Chapel
February 13, 2006

Piano du jour: 9’ Baldwin, very stiff action

Oh, how lovely it was to wake up in that bed this morning! I didn’t want to leave.

We had lunch in Peoria at a place called Cheddar’s Casual Café. Apparently however, they are a bit too casual back in the salad prep area, because Josh found a lady bug in his salad! I had ordered a salad as well, but promptly cancelled that and ordered a turkey croissant sandwich instead. I guess I’ll be avoiding Cheddar’s in the future.

We arrived in Lincoln and checked into our Comfort Inn. It’s hard not to feel a bit of a let down after yesterday’s accommodations. But they do have laundry facilities. And since I started recycling socks this morning, it was good timing.

Trivia: Lincoln, Illinois is the only town named after an American president before he became president.

Our venue this evening was an 1,100-seat chapel. We didn’t quite know what to expect…would we be squeezed in between the pulpit, altar and lectern? But it turned out to have a full proscenium stage.

Patty’s parents were at the show again this evening. Patty’s mom gave us all Valentine’s chocolates. Thanks, Patty’s mom!
